Wrapping up this week’s crafty book giveaway is Debra Quartermain’s Sweatshirts. Inside are 19 project ideas that transform a sweatshirt into a jacket (perfect for Pattern Review’s Refashioning Contest?).

Tell me how you’ll be spending your weekend!). One winner will be drawn on Sunday, January 18 and announced on the site. Good luck and don’t forget to enter this week’s previous book giveaways!
I have an extremely busy weekend, hence why I am on the computer at midnight! My brother and his family came in tonight from Florida (I’m in Chicago) so this weekend is jam packed full of family stuff – including finding out if my sister-in-law is having a boy or girl – can’t wait to find out! I also can’t wait to see how my 3 year old niece likes this weather we are having up here.
I love DIY reconstruction of old clothes. Gives me like a whole new wardrobe! This weekend will be spent going to classes, church and spending much needed time with my one year old! Thanks for the week long contest and all the great books!
Wow, this is a book I have never seen before! I love to recycle clothing. As for my weekend, I am working both days…a day shift on Saturday and evenings on Sunday. My DH is on duty today (fireman-24 hour shift) so tonight will be all sewing…all night!!! Mary 🙂
What a great book! It would be a great way to learn to start sewing clothing. Thanks!
I’d love to be in the drawing for this one! I’m planning to do a *lot* of sewing this weekend…dh is on board and will be taking our tyke out and about while I’m locked in my sewing room. Yay!
Thanks for hosting such great giveaways! You’ve inspired me, and starting next week I’m doing something similar on my blog.
Perfect book for recycling inspiration. I will be taking care of the doggy…and working on my swap pieces *pinuchions, tea towels and a little gift!
I just saw this book at JoAnns. But I forced myself to put it back, as a couple of books had already found their way into my basket. I will be spending part of this weekend watching my daughter play water polo. Hopefully, I will be able to sew, too!
Hi Stacey,
I read your blog regularly but have never left a comment. Your son is adorable! I don’t know how you manage to get so much sewing done. I plan to clean house today and then I’d like to make a few muslins for a vest, skirt, and shirt I want to make. I have been sewing for a long time but still don’t consider myself an expert. I have never made muslins before so this should be fun.
Have a great weekend. Donna
I remember when you reviewed this book and being intrigued by it for some reason. This weekend, well I hope some sewing, but as you can see blog reading is apparently a priority. I hope my new Ottobre arrives for the long weekend too.
This book looks great!
My weekend plans are to straighten up the sewing room and to go to the UNLV bball game this evening. Go Rebels!
What am I doing this weekend? Well, my anniversary was Thursday,so we went out to eat at O’Charles and yesterday (Friday) we went to a movie, Paul Blart, Mall Cop, very funny. I also bought some new patterns on sale at Hancock’s and some new fabric. I have plenty of “mom” stuff to do like laundry and then get ready for church on Sunday! I love your blog even thought I don’t get to read it that often!
This book looks great! I am spending the weekend cleaning, grocery shopping and doing a little sewing too.
I’ll be doing laundry, vacuuming, all that fun stuff, along with reading and knitting. Thanks for the great giveaway!
That’s a great book!! I’ll be doing some sewing and, of course, the usual cooking and laundry. It’s just too cold to go outside…
I’ll be making a quilt for Project Linus this weekend. Thanks.
Well, today I had a coffee date with my husband, and he’ll build a fire in the basement this evening and I’ll do odds and ends of things while I enjoy the fire; and the main event of tomorrow will be helping my new Godson’s older sister (just turned 10) to finish the small friendship quilt she’s making for her new American Girl doll (a project she’s doing in her American Girl Doll Club). Her mom doesn’t sew so I’m teaching her to use the sewing machine. It would be SO fun if she really did develop an interest in sewing.
Add my name to this one too!! I’ll be doing lots and lots of laundry (I think its reproducing on its own in the hamper…) I’ll try to finish 2 flag bags. This is a self-drafted pattern to hold large (6 feet) color guard flag. I’m making one for my DD and one for her BFF. Also hope to grade some papers, dye my hair, vacum, clean out my linen closet, write up a grant and oh, yeah… sleep. Thanks again for this great giveway–good luck everybody!
Love the giveaway…we use to make so many sweatshirts into beautiful items but that was about 10 years back so I am wondering whats new with that these days…
My weekend is being spent doing paperwork for work…cleaning house…and putting together this MASSIVE floor lamp I got at a great deal..actually my dh is doing the hard work and I am doing the small easy work 🙂
I am trying to get over a cold and finish up some college homework. Fun I know.
Oh, this is a project I’d love to try! Maybe I’ll get lucky and win this one =) This weekend
I’ll be working on swaps!
This weekend I’ll be driving to Michigan -brrr to celebrate my mother’s 95th birthday!
This weekend will be spent shoveling, making a snowman, and lots of hot chocolate…with extra whipped cream & chocolate sauce!
