Crafty Book Giveaway Week: Day 6

If you have a stash, no doubt, somewhere smashed in the back is a stack of fleece. 90 Minute Fleece solves the problem of how to use us some of this fuzzy material – from scarfs and vests (beware, there’s lots of vests in this book) to pillows, blankets and throws there’s bound to be something you’ll want to try.
Want to win this book for yourself? Leave a comment in this thread by midnight (CST), Saturday, January 17 to be eligible (need a comment starter? I’d love to hear your favorite place to fabric shop!). One winner will be drawn on Sunday, January 18 and announced on the site. Good luck and don’t forget to enter this week’s previous book giveaways (be sure to come back tomorrow for the last day of Crafty Book Giveaway Week)!

Wow, I can’t believe I am the first one to post this morning. My favorite place to fabric shop would have to be Fabric Depot or the Mill End Store locally or Gorgeous Fabrics or Fabric.com online. And I have a ton of fleece…that book would be put to good use! Mary

    Oops, didn’t follow directions!
My favorite place to fabric shop is online at Ann’s wonderful online store – Gorgeous Fabrics!

I do have some fleece in my stash! My favorite fabric place is The Roadium (roadium.com). It’s a swap meet in CA that has a lot of fabric dealers that sell at great prices ($1 yd/2yds $1/I’ve even found some 3yds $1). It’s quite an experience– some of the dealers have the fabric just piled on the ground and when they measure they do it the old fashioned way– with their arms and sometimes they throw in a extra yard or two!! You never know what you’re going to find. It’s open everyday, but you have to go on Wed for all the fabric dealers. I really miss going– I’m in Wyoming now.

Ooh, this would be perfect for me, as I’m on a fleece blanket kick right now. I’m (ahem) still working on late Christmas presents, and I’ve made four fleece blankets since New Year’s. Plus, I have at least two more to go. Hey, it’s cold outside! 🙂

I do have felt and my In Laws LOVE vests! lol My fave place to look for fabric is the wal-mart in my home town. Strang I know but they get TONS of interesting fabrics that I’ve never seen in any other wal-mart, and they are on the 2 bucks a yard shelf! LOVE IT! But for my expensive fabric I love this little fabric store in Taos NM, they have TONS of Dia de Los Muertos themed fabric, so awesome!

My favorite on line is Gorgeous Fabrics, Fashionista Fabrics and Fabric.com. I also like a locally owned store called Gayfeather Fabrics.

Oh yay, my “native” fabric (ie “the Pacific NW fabric! lol). Fabric place to shop, well my stash of course since I’m trying to whittle it as thin as the infamous “Twiggy”. 🙂

I think I spend most of my shopping time at JoAnn simply because it is close. But when I have a little cash to spare there is a great quilt shop not far called A Touch of Amish and online I’m a big fan of equilters.

My very favorite place to buy fabric is in Williamston, Michigan (near East Lansing, home of MSU) – the Fabric Gallery – truly a wonderful place. Unfortunately, I am living in Virginia near Washington DC and not finding anything like it here!

Any tips to learn how to deal with fleece would be awsome! Now…since I am a fabric nut…I guess any store is a great store..hahah.

I love finding fabric, buttons, and vintage patterns in antique stores! But again, all fabric stores are my favorite!
