Easton usually much for selecting sewing patterns, but when he saw Oliver & S Field Trip Cargo Pants & Raglan T-shirt, he told me that I had to make it. After much searching to find the ‘right’ boy fabric, I set to work on this look.
I decided to start with the shirt first. While I loved the fabric in the store, I have to admit, I hated working with it. I had thought the material was a cotton jersey, but after melting the fabric with my iron, I realized it was entirely synthetic. Thankfully it sewed up well and I came out with a great looking shirt (and as you can tell from the photo Easton loves it). I had also purchased a nice black cord for the pants, but decided to scrap it after I looked at all the pieces for the cargos – they have great detail that will get lost in the dark fabric. I’m thinking I’ll go with something lighter and use this as a casual spring\Easter pant.
