I took a few hours this afternoon to finish up the halter dress. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, except that the fabric is a bit stiff and doesn’t drape quite right (especially in the hip and stomach areas). I made a few minor changes to the dress overall.
So, I spent the afternoon the other day cutting out the pattern and fabric for my halter dress. The fabric was blinding, over 3 yards of that stuff can seriously damage your eyesight.
A long while back, Bret had said that I don’t wear enough dresses (he now claims he didn’t say this). I saw a review recently at Pattern Review for this pattern and knew that I had to make this up. After getting a print bundle from Fabric Mart I decided to use the orange and tan (not normally my color, but will look great this summer when I’m no longer pasty) print for this dress. This is definitely tops my ‘what to sew next’ list.
