Today is the day – Part 2 of Stranger Things is out! To celebrate, I sewed myself up a little something using the sublimated fabric I made last week. A Hellfire Club bag!
The fabric I created was just enough for the front of the bag (there are a few scraps, but not really enough to do anything with), unfortunately it is very thin. I broke down and bought interfacing, but found that even with a layer of woven interfacing it didn’t have quite enough support. In the end, I used both Pelon SF101 and a midweight from Emmaline Bags which gave me the perfect feel – nice and crisp, retains it’s shape well without being too thick.
As for the bag itself, I used the Dayna Pack pattern (you can see my previous version here), solid black vinyl, Alexander Henry flame fabric (for the bag lining, it seemed appropriate), and my favorite part…. glow in the dark zipper tape (the pull is pretty cool too, but I wish I would have pre-ordered this game dice pull when I had the chance)! Since this was my second time working with this pattern, it went together pretty quickly – I finished this project in an afternoon! I can’t wait to use it (maybe I’ll put snacks in it for tonight’s viewing, LOL).
