Natalia

We are one week out from the 4th of July here in the US, so what does that mean for sewists? SALES AND FREEBIES! Sonia Estep Designs is kicking of the week with not one, but 2 free patterns with purchase (or $6 each). Today I’m reviewing my favorite, the Natalia.

The Natalia has a flattering V-Neck design that can be made in either an empire or natural waist bodice and comes in 3 lengths: mini, midi, and maxi. While it’s adorable on it’s own, this pattern is part of Sonia’s interchangeable dress collection so it can be mashed up with the Hollywood, Lily, Katharine and\or Camilla!

For this version, I made a sleeveless, natural waist mini dress in a splatter print double brushed poly from So Sew English Fabrics (the exact material isn’t available, but you can find a similar print in this bundle). While I don’t make a lot of dresses, I was totally attracted to this pattern because of the “twirl factor” – I have a hard time passing up those circle skirt bottoms…. and the Natalia doesn’t disappoint. It’s fun, it’s flirty, and it’s flattering to wear. Best of all it’s easy to sew – I literally assembled the pattern, cut the (pattern and) fabric, and sewed this dress up before noon. That means you can easily have a new dress in time for date night!

Grab the Natalia AND the Summer Tank patterns FREE with purchase (or $6 each) until 7/5. You can also get the rest of the Sonia Estep collection 50% off during this time too – it’s a great opportunity to grab the Hollywood, Lily, Katherine, and Camilla if you don’t already own them. I’ll be reviewing the Summer Tank tomorrow – stay tuned for my version!
