Loulouxe

It has been ridiculously hot and humid lately… and, unfortunately, I’ve been finding myself outside a lot (between Easton’s golf tournaments & soccer, it’s unavoidable). I got tired of wearing shorts so I decided to pull out my favorite Loulouxe skirt… and I forgot how much I loved it. So much so, I decided to make myself another:

For this version, I picked out a Tatian floral athletic knit that I had purchased from Fabric.com awhile ago. This fabric was originally destined to become a pair of leggings, but the solid I had purchased (which became the shorts portion of this pattern) didn’t match that well so it’s been sitting in my stash for “just the right project (or matching fabric)”.

Let me just say how much I love this pattern! The fit is spot on, the pattern is easy to construct (it looks far more complicated than what it truly is AND there’s no hems!), it has pockets (which is very important because I need a place to put my keys), and it is perfect for “chub rub” (with Easton’s golf tournaments we tend to walk the course behind him – there is nothing worse then your thighs sticking and\or rubbing together while walking in extreme heat and humidity). The only downfall to this pattern is that the pocket is too small for my phone (in hindsight, I could have easily modify this by cutting the pocket wider).

It the temperatures keep up like this, chances are you may see one or two more of these posted. That probably also means I need more athletic knit, too!
