I honestly had no intentions of making a lot of Christmas gifts this year, but I kept seeing posts about Made for Mermaids Hidden Pocket Infinity Scarf again this year and I caved. So I decided that I would make gifts for Easton’s teachers – they’ve done a great job getting him excited about school and making not just the transition to middle school, but a whole new district, great….. and now I want one too.
Since moving to Columbus I have learned that you need The Ohio State University Gear. Like a lot. So, I picked up some very cozy flannel from Joann’s that resembled Ohio State’s colors and some OSU collegiate cotton (for the pocket) and set to work. Since the flannel wasn’t as wide (45″) I wasn’t able to make the scarf quite as wide as the instructions (I cut the fabric in half so I could get 2 scarves out of 2 yards of material), but it’s plenty thick enough when it’s being worn. I used my Cricut to make some cute packaging (and so they also knew it had a pocket) and sent Easton off to school with them this morning. While he’s at school, I’ve decided I’m making more. I may be addicted.
