Change of Plans

Sometimes I get a picture in my mind about how I think a project should look and, for one reason or another, it turns into something completely different. This one is a great example… When I first came up with the concept for this article, I though I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Unfortunately, after an exhaustive search, I never could find embroidery designs that match my original idea so I sat on this project for days, pondering what I wanted to try next. After testing a few embroidery designs (one was scrapped because I realized that it felt too similar to something I had done several years ago), I finally had a “light bulb moment” to try a totally different concept… and now this may be one of my favorite projects of the year. In fact, I like this one so much, I’m considering seeing if the fabric store has some of the same material so I can make myself one to wear now (this project won’t appear until summer of 2020)!

With this article finished, I’m now free to do a lot more personal projects – of which I have a growing list. Between some fun family shirts for Thanksgiving, a warmish pullover (to wear when the weather is milder), pajama pants for Easton (who would live in pajamas on the weekend if I didn’t make him change), a bag that I have cut out and ready to go, and some warmer weather tops, I think I have my work cut out for me…. now which one should I start first?
