2018 has come to a close and as we welcome in the new year, I like to sit down and see what sorts of projects I’ve completed. Unfortunately, this year, I found that sometime in October I stopped keeping track of what I was working on. This is due in part to a huge slowdown in productivity because I started having to take care of my mother who was diagnosed with dementia this summer, but also sheer laziness.
However, with what I did record, I am happy to report that I used a lot of my stash (that’s not to say that I even made a dent in it, but I still used a lot of it) – a trend that I would like to continue into 2019. My favorite pattern company continues to be Jalie, with about 75% of my projects being made with their patterns. Peek-a-boo patterns was definitely my second favorite with a lot of projects sprinkled in there as well.
So, what’s coming up for 2019? Hopefully a return to more regular sewing (and recording of my projects)- I find that it really is a good stress reliever\keeps me sane. A massive clean-out of my sewing room – not only is it over run with remnants, patterns that I’m not using, etc. we also found out that we will be moving this summer (more on that in another post) so it’s time to make that room look more presentable. Lastly, I’d love to give a quilt a try again this year – not something “traditional”, but more a long the line of a photo or art type quilt.
What’s on your agenda for 2019?
