I spent much of the past two days pattern testing for George & Ginger. While I think that they both went off without a hitch, pattern-wise, I have determined that Liverpool fabric is a pain in the rear. By the way, my Liverpool print (which is currently sold out, is shown on the left).
If you’ve never had the opportunity to work with this material it described as a very stretchy double knit with a crepe like texture. To me, this fabric is very thin and requires stabilization to keep topstitching crisp (and definitely needs it along waistbands, etc. so that they don’t droop)… all in all, it was a frustrating\disappointing sewing project and probably my last time working with it unless I really fall in love with a particular print.
Now it’s time to put that project behind me and do a bit of selfish sewing. I am leaning toward a second Harbor Knot Tank (you can see my first one here) in a fun, flamingo print…. I figure I had better sew up the summer prints quickly before I have to stash them for fall.
