Alright, admittedly, it doesn’t look like much – the photo is purposely disguised and cropped so you can’t see exactly what it is, but I can tell you that they are easy-to-sew and will appear with an companion article in the Oct\Nov. issue of Sew News later on this year. Now that fabric? Not so easy to sew at all. While I loved the heathered sknit (Joann’s version of a sweater knit, I believe) that had a bit of lurex (shiny thread) woven through it, it was really a booger to work with (even though it had good stretch and recovery when I fiddled with it at the store). Pair that up with the fact that I had to make several prototypes with it before finally getting everything right, and I think it’s safe to say that I’m really tired of looking at this material!
I will say that Taylor totally approved of the final items. In fact, she asked if she could wear it to school that morning. So, I’m feeling fairly confident about the look of my final design since she’s my meter or what’s still fashionable and cool. Now, what to sew up next?
