A few weeks ago, I went with Taylor to a cute little local boutique and fell in love with lots of stuff… I could have gone mad shopping! While I picked up a few things, there were several tops that I figured that I could make myself for a lot less (oddly enough we noticed that in some shirts, the larger the size, the price increased as well) and vowed that when I was done with my to do list, that those would become my first ‘selfish sewing projects’.
Consequently, up next is a top inspired by the photo on the left. I’m actually going with a different color scheme which is similar to one they had in the store – a mauve and cream with a suede pocket and elbow patches. I intend on using the Ensis Tee pattern for the base of this project and make a few modifications to make it look more like the photo.
I also plan to sew up a fun raglan that mixes florals and stripes. Oddly enough I love this combination together, although I never would have pictured putting them together, myself. As a bonus, I have a great stripe on hand as well as a beautiful floral. For this one, I plan on using the Rainier Raglan pattern since it has a slightly looser fit and a larger neckband that is similar to the photo on the right.
Hopefully I’ll get both of these sewn up in time for the weekend. It’s finally getting chilly around here and I’m looking forward to getting to wear a fall wardrobe!
