Who says fun undies have to be just for the kids? After last week’s Jalie Boxer Brief sew, I decided it was my turn.
Even though I have numerous designers and styles of underwear patterns, I couldn’t resist trying something new – the kind of panties that do not use elastic. I came very close to buying Kitschy Koo’s Barrie Boy Cut Briefs when it was released, but I finally broke down in buying this style when I saw Peek-a-Boo’s Uptown Undies…. because it came with a camisole pattern too! My conclusion? I love them!
I don’t normally post photos of me modeling the finished underwear, but I had to show the fit – just the right rise and not too tight in the waist\hips\legs (now let’s see how they wear\wash up). As for sewing – this pattern couldn’t be easier and is constructed just like most other underwear patterns, however, there is considerably less ‘stretching’ of the main fabric (as opposed to some others that I’ve sewn) since the leg and waist bands are almost the same size as the opening themselves. Definitely plan on seeing more of these very soon!
I didn’t bother making the camisole this time around, but think I may give it a go the next time I stitch it up. Just by glancing at the instructions and pattern itself, the cami looks very easy to sew and should also be a quick stitch (plus I also like the fact that it has a built-in shelf bra with optional bra cups so it can easily become a bra top).
