Trendy Green Sparkle Dress

Just in time for the weekend, Taylor’s homecoming dress is done! All the modifications (lengthening the sleeve and hem, taking out extra material in the back, and increasing the hip measurement) really make for a nice fitting garment – unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until after the weekend for an “action shot” as she wasn’t able to model for me when I put up this post.

This design is extremely simple to sew (just 3 pieces), but be prepared to modify the fit in some way – I wasn’t the only one that experienced fit issues, all the reviews posted in Pattern Review complained that something didn’t work right for them. I would also advise anyone sewing this look to contemplate using a twin needle for finishing to keep your finishes (the neckline and bottom hem mostly) stretchy and looking professional – the pattern calls for straight stitches on a narrow hem and I am just envisioning popped stitches while dancing!

Aside from all it’s faults, this is a cute, trendy little dress that was exactly what my daughter wanted in a dress. It’s a shame that it’s out of print, I think it could have survived a couple of more seasons in a fabric store pattern cabinet.

It really looks beautiful! I can’t wait to see it on your daughter! I hope she is having fun at the dance :-)

You have a beautiful daughter. How wonderful to have a mom that can customize a dress for a special occasion.

Make sure you take component in a contest for among the best blogs on the web. I will advise this website!
