I love browsing fashion sites and magazines to check out the latest trends. I recently spotted this figure-flattering Lela Rose color-block sheath dress (photo on the left) and fell in love…. although not with the price tag ($1,295)! While pattern surfing I stumbled across BurdaStyle 7053 – which had remarkably similar lines to my inspiration dress, but in a knit. At first, I thought I would use a heathered gray knit with solid black jersey for this design, but after staring at the pattern for awhile, I decided the stripe (I have a weakness for stripes) was definitely more ‘me’… I even had a black strip knit sitting in my stash just waiting for me to use. Here’s the project details for this one, proving, sometimes it is more economical to sew!

I like it, can’t wait to see how it turns out =)
I love how this dress makes a curvy hour-glass shape on the wearer. I can’t wait to see it made up!
what do they mean by “young” burda? LOL I’m looking forward to your end result.
I think they classify young as ‘trendier’ clothing (I’ve also found they are more casual, too). I believe the sizing is the same as their regular patterns, though.
