The Swap Package

If you’re a regular reader of this blog you already know that I have a soft spot for swaps. Not only do they give me an opportunity to make some unique projects (they are, in fact, a great source of inspiration for some of my tutorials) and receive some fabulous items in return (often things that I could never create myself), but my kids love when packages arrive. Both Taylor and Easton were home when my Christmas Stocking package arrived and as you can tell by their faces, they had an awesome time helping me open everything….. and claiming ‘dibs’ on things they wanted.

Not only was my stocking filled lots of candies and treats, but there was a ton of sewing supplies as well (Velcro in a variety of colors, buttons, a new seam ripper, a Coats & Clark box of thread, sewing labels, a DIY coaster set with a 4 1/2″ ruler, a fantastic handmade strawberry shortcake pincushion in a vintage glass, and a set of Ginger scissors in it’s own cozy)! But my absolutely favorite item of the bunch (alright, the scissors and pincushion are a close second)? This amazing snowman! Not only did she do an amazing job painting this guy (the photo just doesn’t capture how awesome it is, the snow even ‘sparkles’), but she cast it herself! It is currently sitting on my mantel so that everyone can admire it.
