My last distraction this weekend\week has been….. prototype sewing (I would put up a photo, but I’ve been using the last of the white crown fabric from this project)! The prototypes are for a future WeAllSew project – it’s really developed from a very simple idea into something a bit more complex, but still easy to sew and darn cute! If all goes well, by Friday I’ll have a sneak peek of a finished design up on the site. What has everyone else’s distractions been lately? Please tell me I’m not the only one with Sewing ADHD! (By the way, my other, other distraction has been ogling “Jennifer’s Casual Look” pattern set at Style Arc and daydreaming what fabrics I would use to make it. I believe that I may have talked myself into getting them).

You are definitely not alone in your battle with sewing ADHD! (Ok…I’m not fighting it too hard.) Finishing the roman blinds for my breakfast room was tops on the list for summer and now it is August and I have allowed myself to be distracted by 2 maxi dresses, a tote bag, a couple of skirt/dress redesigns, a crazy patch purse and a variety of other things that are NOT roman blinds. But isn’t it fun to sew impulsively!
Nice explanation for both old and new swrees, never hurts to refresh your knowledge or learn something new. I do agree that Kwik sew patterns are wonderful, I personally prefer them over a lot of the new patterns that are coming out aimed at making sewing easier, having purchased a few of them I will confess I did have a few issues with how things were done, not sure if cutting corners makes for a better sewing experience or nicer completed garment
DOUBLE KNOT!!!!I would like to strongly remocmend that you double knot the fringe. I washed a baby blankent and an adult blanket that had only been knotted once as she remocmended and they both came apart in the wash. It turned into a much more difficult project to try to match up the top fringe with the bottom fringe for two blankets. We are finally done. Whew!!!
This is most helpful. I have bkkamoroed this. Do you have a file saved with this information that you could email to me as an attachment. You did a great job with this and I am finding it most helpful. Escpecially with KS. No wonder I have to use their small sizes compared to say Vogue or Butterick.
