I’m an Office nut. In the grand scheme of comedies, it ranks (almost) right up there with Seinfeld (my all time favorite show). So it comes as no surprise that I’ve joined The Office Swap on Craftster. In fact, this is my fifth one. This also means that I’m having to be more creative with this swap in an effort not to make something I’ve already done, but at the same time, keeping with my partner’s likes. First up…..
Jim’s messenger bag:
There’s never a really good shot at his bag so I sort of ‘winged it’ as far as knocking off it’s look. I used a brown twill for the body of the bag, nylon webbing (only because I couldn’t find a cotton that matched with the brown) for the strap, and a pretty paisley for the interior. I added an exterior tool pocket on the back of the bag and one that located on the front that’s hidden under the flap. In retrospect, I think I should have added one more set of pockets on the interior and one more layer of medium weight interfacing to make it just a bit stiffer. Overall, I like the way it turned out – I think it’s the lining that really does it for me.
I’ve been brainstorming a few more ideas for this swap and can’t wait to test them out… stay tuned for silliness!
