We are in another ‘record breaking’ heat wave here and it is HOT! This post isn’t so much about the sweltering temperatures so much as it as about my sleep attire choices. As much as I love sleep pants, it’s just too hot (even with the air conditioning cranked) to wear them so I’ve made the switch to boxers. Besides the fact that the Tommy Boxers were simply adorable the heat helped me make my decision to buy this pattern…. and I wasn’t disappointed.

There are a lot of boxer style patterns out there, but I believe that this is probably the most ‘authentic’ design that I’ve ever used. They were also very easy to put together – the instructions and illustrations\photographs were great and there were lots of helpful tools and tricks included as well (I liked that they had a hem guide which I think is perfect for beginners who want to sew this up right away but don’t have a seam gauge, and I LOVED how they gave you elastic measurements and how they had you marking it evenly across the waistband). The only disappointment was the fit which is much more ‘relaxed’ than what I expected. According to the size guide, Taylor should be a small and I’m in the medium range – both were very large on us. Next round we’ll size them down.
Overall, I loved this pattern – they look great, are a unique styling (with a one piece seat which makes it easier to embellish), and you have the ability to add some fun lettering to the rear like ready-to-wear styles. I can’t wait to make more!
