There’s nothing spending a day at the pool with the kids and coming home to a box of fabric you ordered! That’s exactly what happened yesterday – it was a great way to end a fun, family day. Here’s a peek at what I ordered. The first two are some of the new Michael Miller knits – a ‘citrus’ stripe and a lime solid. While it looked like they would match on the site, the solid is a slightly different shade. I had hoped to make an Ottobre style shirt this fall for Easton (you know, striped on the frontback chest area; solid for the sleeves), but it may be off just enough that it won’t look right. The last two fabrics are going to be…… Boxers! I even taped and traced off the patterns last night and washed the fabrics in preparation for some weekend sewing. I’ve got to sew these up while the temperatures are still hot, I can get a lot of mileage out of these as pajamaslounge wear for a few more months. In addition to the fabrics, I also picked up some hot fix rhinestones (I think I’m going to do some shirt embellishing this fall) and some of the rhinestone trim…. I guess I was feeling ‘sparkly’ when I placed my order.
Besides sharing my fabric order, I thought I would share a couple of more links that didn’t make it into yesterdays post (they just weren’t up yet). Collette Patterns is doing a fabric giveaway! 4 yards worth of fabric from Sew, Mama, Sew! Just leave a comment on their Facebook page (scroll down for the entry to comment) for your chance to win. Speaking of Sew, Mama, Sew – they have a couple of giveaways going on as well including free fabric and Joel Dewberry’s Sewn Spaces (I checked this out at the bookstore the other day and thought it had some cute projects).
