One of the upcoming classes I’m teaching this month is for the Lunch Sack that I created for The Sewing Republic. What I like best about this tutorial is the size of the bag – it’s big! Easily large enough to put an adult’s meal, thermos, lunch kit, or bento box inside with enough room for a bottled water too! Plus it’s insulated so everything stays cool until lunch time. So why mention this now? Because I made a new (in-store) sample:

This time I used a laminated material (Michael Miller’s China Doll print), sew on hook and loop tape (because using the Fast Fusion Velcro tape might melt the material when applying it), and eliminated the exterior stitching to give the bag a softer look to it. From start to finish this project took around an hour to make – I love those quick and easy projects!

Oh – I love the laminated material – easy for cleaning! Did you use a teflon foot to sew?
