Did you know that October is National Pajama Month? To celebrate (plus the fact I need some new loungewear), I’ve decided to make several pairs! I’ve even started cutting out some fabric using McCall 3019. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but this is probably my favorite pajama pants pattern for the sheer fact that they are uber comfortable and have pockets.
I’m also planning on making a set with my I Love Lucy fabric, however I only purchased a yard for the bottoms (I wasn’t originally intending on making pajamas with it) so I’ll need to find a shorts pattern that uses less material. Any suggestions?

Why can’t you just shorten the length of the pants in the pattern you already have? Use them, measure however far down your inseam that you want them, and adjust accordingly. You can then take the end piece of the pattern to make that little hem flare (if they have one–maybe that’s a Kwik Sew thing?)
You could even make PJ capris if that is something you are interested in–just kind of go by however much fabric you have on hand. And remember, the interior of the pockets doesn’t have to match the rest of the pants–just use a similar or neutral fabric.
Good luck!
Hmm, radical reshaping: make just pants and a coordinating knit top, which can include a very light shelf bra as a bonus. Tag on a cuff to a coordinating flannel pant bottom and top, then you’ll have four ways to Love Lucy. It’s getting definitely chilly here in BXL so it’s just me, I can’t imagine wearing shorty pyjamas.
