First off, I need to give a big Thank You to my family for allowing me to shut my sewing room door and work on my project – For Bret who took Easton out for awhile while I sewed, to Taylor who babysat while I put the finishing touches on my project, and to Easton who took a really long nap. You all have no idea how greatly I appreciate it! What was I working on? This:

Yes, it’s another ‘sneak peek’. This time, I wrote instructions for an upcoming Sew News – you’ll notice by the fabric that there’s snowflakes, so that means only one thing…. it’s Christmas related! I will say this, it was a large undertaking, both figuratively and literally. Not only did the finished project turn out large (I sort of knew this going in, but didn’t realize how big it would look until I put it all together), but the tutorial and pattern making was a bit of a challenge…. and I loved every minute of it! I think that I enjoyed the fact that my math worked out perfectly and things came together so well (now let’s hope that you all think so when you read it). The only part that got my heart racing was when I was sewing the vinyl – anyone that’s worked with it knows that one mistake and you could ruin your entire project.
Now it’s time for me to be ‘selfish’ and just sew for myself. I’ve spent the last month either sewing for my etsy shop (shameless plug) or writing tutorials for The Sewing Republic and Sew News that I haven’t had much time to do anything else. So, now it’s time to get back to my Ottobre Sew along jacket, to use some of those new fabrics and patterns that I’ve just purchased, and work on that Summer Blouse from Weekend Sewing…… I can’t wait!

Stacy – I can’t wait to see your latest creation for Sew News. Go make yourself something now!
You will let us know when these incredible (I’m sure judging from your other works!) projects will come out? Waiting – not so patiently!
After a busy week it sounds like you’ll enjoy your weekend! Hope we get to see the results of your Me Time soon
I’ll be watching for your project in SN. Whatever it is, I have a feeling it will make a great home-sewn gift!
I had to tell you, the other day I think the stars were aligned just right because my children actually cooperated while I got some real sewing done as well! I even ordered a pizza for dinner because I was so excited to be getting this time I didn’t want to break it by stopping to make dinner! I’m happy you were able to get done what you needed to and take some time to get done what you want to. I certainly look forward the upcoming projects!
