Random Bits

I have to admit, this week has been a blurr with activities and I found that I didn’t really have much time in the sewing room. There’s so much that I want to sew up, so to keep myself on track, I’ve made a “To Do” list. I did the same thing last month and I found that not only did it help keep me focused, but I purchased less fabric (of course, once the month was over, I slipped and took advantage of Fabric Mart‘s 20% off sale)!
I also wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to Kris of Monkey Foot Designs who sent me two wonderful Wet Bags! She is my superhero – not only is she sewing up some of the cutest bags, but she’s due with baby #3… tomorrow! I’m not sure how she finds the time and energy (last minute nesting, perhaps?)! Thanks again, Kris, I love my new bags and will be putting them to very good use.

Lastly, it’s time to vote in Pattern Review’s Sewn Hat contest! For this contest, I only entered one project – Easton’s Reversible Bucket Hat. I had good intentions of making myself a ‘newsboy’ style cap, but after looking at the pattern again, I decided against it. Now I’m thinking I may make myself a bucket hat…. eventually!
As for weekend sewing, I am planning on working on my sheep, stopping by Needle Nook to check out this month’s anniversary sale, writing a tutorial for a late 2009 Sew News article, and finishing up some small projects that need to get out the door. What’s on your To Do list?

Love the wet bags! They’ll come in handy this summer.
I’m working on a jacket. S2703. Tomorrow, I’m basting the underlining (batiste) to the outer fabric pieces, while listening to reruns of Gunsmoke or something else equally unstimulating.
