I had to take a break from sewing up my bag in order to get everything ready for Taylor’s last (ever) classroom party. Since there weren’t many volunteers to bring items (I promise I won’t rant about that, but why is it the older your kids get, the less some parents help out?), I was left to organize and get crafty by myself. I always struggle to find activities that they would like at this age, so this time, I made a “guessing game” (how many are in the jar style) with M&M’s and this idea for a centerpiece (they just posted a similar one for St. Pat’s Day)

Mine turned out a bit different than the inspiration photo, largely because I wasn’t able to find a tall parfait glass and I didn’t have enough taffy to turn on it’s side – so I improvised and added a spoon and Hershey’s kiss to the top. To keep the ‘theme’ going I added candies in smaller parfait glasses and scattered them throughout the table. Can you guess how many M&Ms fit inside the dishes?
If you guessed 422, you’re right! By the way, did you see the new Jalie patterns are available for pre-order? I’m all over that jeans pattern!

Lovin’ that pink bag Stacy!
And I’ll be sure to post about the baby as soon as I can – no rush though! Would love him to stay in here until Easter
That is really clever and cute!
Don’t tell me you count the m&m’s before you put in there? OH MY! heheh.
This looks gorgeous! I like your version very very much! Seems like the possibilities are endless…and that hershey’s was just the “cherry” on the top of this beautiful creation.
Ooh! Thanks for the link to the Jalie jeans pattern. I, too, am all over that! The fabric shop down the way carries Jalie, so I’m going to keep an eye out for that one when it comes in–I’m bored with my current jeans pattern (HP trouser jeans), since I’ve made it so many times, so I’m thinking this could be a could one to try.
(By the way, now I have an uncontrollable desire for salt water taffy, after seeing your photo.)
How cute!
That is such a cute idea! I’m so happy the new Jalies are out too – talk about taking forever.
Oh I love them! They look great =) What a great centerpiece idea. The taffy colors look so pretty.
That is too cute!! Why is that her last party ever? Did they have a good time? I am intrigued can you tell? I think those candy dishes would be a great gift to anyone, hair dresser, Sunday school teacher, teacher, grandma!hehe I am going to have give those a shot!
