Fabric Bowls and a Giveaway

28

Category : General

I have a confession to make, I’ve never sewn a fabric bowl before this weekend. It’s not like I don’t own several patterns on the subject, it’s just that I’m turned off by using lots of Peltex and satin stitching the entire project. So what makes the Modern Fabric Bowl different? Finished edges, a clean design, and lots of photos to walk you through construction!

I sifted through my stash and managed to whip each of these little cuties up in an afternoon. While I was working with them, I started thinking of all the possibilities for this pattern – holiday decorations, small gift baskets, or even enlarging the pattern on a copier and making a set of nesting bowls to match your decor.
Want this pattern for yourself? Erin is giving away a Modern Fabric Bowl PDF to one lucky reader – just leave a comment in this thread and I’ll draw a name and announce the winner on Friday (March 6)!

Those are really cute! Please enter me in the drawing.

These are darling! Looks like they would be a great way to use up scraps too.

Great bowls! I too have stayed away from the bowls but love how yours turned out.

They’re fabulous. It would be a fun way to use up scraps.

Oh yes…fabric even in the bowls. You huuu huuu!
These bows are so darling.

Very nice. I too have multiple books on the subject but have yet to make one. Yours look fabulous!

VERY cute bowls!

Very Nice! I would love to be entered in the drawing!

I love the fabric on the music bowl its looks like it could work for a guy.

So cute! And I like the idea of LOTS of photos to help.

I’m with you – I’ve never made those bowls because of all of the sewing through peltex, too. This one looks interesting.

How cute! These would be a perfect bowl at the front door to throw keys in, and change, and those little odds and ends that always end up there. Also great to use up little scraps… wonder if you could do a patchwork/quilted one… i think that would be cute!
I also love the pinkish one you did! Very fun! :)

Love the bowls-I’ve made another style, but my needle kept breaking-sounds like this is a breeze!

Cute bowls Stacy! I’ve made the satin-stitched-peltex-middled bowls, they’re actually not *toooo* bad. I’d love to make up one like yours and compare them. Looks like fun!

Wow, normally the fabric bowl concept doesn’t really do it for me, but I really like the more organic look of yours. I’ve been enjoying your blog for a couple weeks now….such cute stuff :)

I’ve never seen a fabric bowl before I dont think… They look great! I like your idea of using them for gifts. Thanks for sharing.

I’d love to have a copy of the pattern. I did the bit with the Peltex and was not enchanted.

So cute! I think I need to learn how to make those!

Uh, oh…I just bought my first Peltex a couple of weeks ago.. to see how it works for making those little baskets that tie in each corner. I made one with plastic template stuff, but I had to be careful and not stitch ON the plastic itself, which was a pain, so I thought I’d try Peltex. I, also have never snowed by fabric bowls, till these.

Darling boxes! One on a table by the door to hold keys would be perfect!

Very cute bowls, Stacy! Please enter me into the drawing… I’d love this pattern!

I love how these turned out! If I win this pattern, I’ll make several fabric bowls for my sewing area. I really need to get organized!

Always wanted to make one of these!

Oh they are great and I love the finished edges, that’s what has turned me off before, satin stitching ugh… Thanks so much for the chance! =)

I love the bowls! Please put my name in your drawing. The pattern is great!
