The Giveaway

I’ve tired 5 times now to put up a book review post, but every time I attempt to start, something comes up (cranky baby, making pancakes for Taylor and her friend that slept over, etc.) so now that it’s almost noon, I’m giving up….. Instead, let’s do something simple, like a giveaway!
I now have two patterns for Jalie 2561 (I thought I had lost my original pattern, then went out and purchased it again, only to find it after hours of searching) which means I have one to give away (you can check out the reviews of this pattern here)!! To be eligible for this contest, leave a comment in this thread telling me your ‘must have’ pattern (or pattern combination) for this fall. I’ll even give you an extra entry if you link back to this post on your own blog, just be sure to leave a comment here with a link back to your blog post (FYI, your comment with a URL may not initially show up as I have put my blog spam filter on high lately. However, I’ll be going through all my comments so I’ll be sure to make sure they make it on the site and are an extra entry into the giveaway). I’ll end this contest midnight (CST) Wednesday November 18 and announce the winner (by random number generator) on my Linky Thursday post!

That is an easy one…my combo pattern combination for this fall (and winter) is from Amy Butler’s Book “The Robe and lounge pants!!” I live on these!!! I want to make all colors

I’ve never sewed with a Jalie pattern, I hope I win just so I can try and actually make pants! I love your blog, btw.

Thanks – you just gave me a reason to post on my blog! =) My must have pattern is Simplicity 2804. It’s fast and easy. Since it’s a knit pattern and loose fitting, I don’t have to make any alterations. I’ve made 3 tops from two of the views and I’ll probably make at least one more view.

My must have pattern for fall is Vogue 1025. This was featured on the cover of the current Threads issue sewn up in velvet. I’m sewing it up in a brown wool knit for a wedding next weekend.

I am wanting to sew up McCall’s 5759 (jacket) and a couple of skirts. Of course, I can’t seem to stop signing up for apron swaps so that’s all I’ve sewn lately.

I am hoping to get a chance to make up the suntop pattern from “How to Sew” by Nikki Trench (ISBN 978-1-4075-1764-3) to help me cope with the tropical wet season in Darwin (Australia).

I don’t want to be put in for the drawing but just wanted to say this is my favorite. My trouser jeans from a few weeks ago are made front that pattern.

OMGosh, I sooooo want that pants pattern Stacy!!!!! Anyway, my favorite pattern currently is the great cowl neck top from BWOF – it’s just simple and so cozy. I have one cut out and ready to go as I type.

Oh, what a nice giveaway! My next project is to sew a jacket–the pattern is Hot Patterns Riviera Boulevard Jacket. I plan to make it with full-length sleeves.

    Thanks for your generosity Stacy!
My “must have” pattern for this fall is Vogue 8333: a beautiful jacket that I would make of a brown cashmere wool that I bought a few months ago.
I’m currently working on the October KNIPmode jacket pattern 4b (I can’t get a picture anywhere!), and was wondering how Jalie 2561 would go with that…(see my blog for trackback).

ooh I’m game – I think BWOF 09/08 #114 (the Versace knockoff, petite, jumper dress) is the absolutely perfect Christmas party dress. I’m halfway through mine in navy silk and it is just DIVINE. I suddenly want one in ever colour and fabric imaginable…

Oh I have to admit, I don’t have a must have pattern for this season! I’m trying not look at the books, and if I do sew for myself this fall/winter, I hope to tackle either my Women’s ottobre or burda magazines. I’ve got issues of them, and haven’t made anything!! I’m feeling really quilty!! Argh!!
    Happy Sewing!

I would really love to make Vogue Pattern 8550. It’s a beautiful coat with lots of interesting detail. Can you imagine making it in a deep jewel tone and wearing it with a cute black dress and tights! So chic!

My must have pattern for fall is Simiplicity 3692. It is a built by wendy pattern. I have only made one top so far, but I have several in the works. In the south it isn’t cold very often so a 3/4 length sleeves come in handy.

There was some awesome examples of Vogue 1060 on PatternReview yesterday. I need a new coat badly and this one looks easy and fun to wear. It’s my “must have”.

Hi Stacy! I’ve been a lurker for a looooooong time and thought this might be the time to de-lurk! You do great stuff and your children are beautiful!

I have to must have patterns for fall/winter. I am making M5758 in fleece for a casual jacket and then I am making M5764 in wool for the cape version. I would love to try out a Jalie pattern.
