A Bit Of A Diversion

At the beginning of this month, my sister-in-law and niece came for a visit. Since it was so hot outside, we opted to do a fun indoor activity – pottery painting! Even though I had picked up our pieces, I neglected to post our finished products:

The mug on the left is Taylor’s and mine is the massive red polka dotted one. I’ve been using it for morning coffee almost every day since!
Up next on the Bernina, a pincushion for my latest swap, oh yes, and lots of aprons.

I want that polka dots mug! How cool is that? I like the color combination a lot!
I cannot wait to see what you will come up for pin cushion this time!

Great mugs! I like a LARGE mug, too, and have taken to using a latte bowl for my morning coffee. That’s because my sister tipped me off to a great kitchen gadget – the Aerolatte – which is a battery-powered mini whisk for frothing hot milk. I love that thing!

Just 2 Sundays ago I printed out some info on painting on coffee mugs!!! I’d bought a set of 4 for my Mom some years ago that were very uniquely painted. Thinking, I can do that… I looked up some info. What I found says to use polyester type paints and varnish. Is this what you you used? I haven’t had the chance to make it to the store and look for any paints yet.
