I Shrunk It!

Category : General

From time to time, I like to reconstruct clothing – mostly because it gives new life to something that otherwise might become a dust rag. In my latest recon, I took one of Taylor’s softball jerseys from last year and turned it into something Easton could wear…the ultimate T-shirt shrink down!

For Easton’s jersey, I used a shirt pattern from Ottobre magazine. It was quick and easy to put together – I didn’t even read the directions! The size is a bit big, even though I used the smallest that they had, but I figure with the way he’s growing, he’ll be in it soon enough. At least I finished this one in time to cheer on the team in tonights game!

So cute! And so clever! I see a lot of reconstructed t-shirts in Easton’s future! :)

Stacy this T looks amazing! You are becaming master on this thing!

You are brilliant!

Grrrr….and I just gave a bunch of t-shirts to Goodwill (we’re moving)!! I’ve subscribed to Ottobre since they started publishing the English version….it’s my favorite resource for trendy (and basic) children’s patterns! You are so inspiring to so many people—keep up the great work!

Oh that is so cute! My boys love the shirts I “shrunk” down for them – such a clever way to reuse a shirt! :-)

How cute! I love the idea of reconstructing things. I currently have a work in progress of a skirt turned into a dress that a friend of mine wanted to salvage. We bought the knit fabric for the bodice and attaching the skirt. We’ll see how that goes, but it’s a fun process. Thinking of the possibilities…

So darn cute!

What a great idea! I just went and got my big boys some matching USA shirts and went ahead and got an extra large to make a romper for the baby. I have never done this but I really wanted them all to match. Now I am thinking it might have been better to get a smaller shirt and just take in the sides and such. Thanks for sharing, you always have such great ideas. Though I don’t post much I do read your blog every day!!! Thanks

What a great idea. I’ve never heard of that magazine. I just went to check it out. It looks awesome. Do you subscribe?

That is adorable! Will we see a pic of him in it?
