Laundry Is My Nemesis

No doubt I’ve mentioned it before, but I despise laundry. I actually don’t mind the sorting, removal of stains, and the actual laundry part of it, but I can’t stand folding and putting it all away (and let’s not talk about the need for ironing). Unfortunately, that’s what I’ll be doing today – that and waiting on the lighting guy to come and install our outdoor coach lights we purchased. What I’d much rather be doing is working on my latest project, Kwik Sew 3090 (which has now been added to the side bar). The pattern is traced, the fabric is cut, and I’m anxious to try out my new snap setter for this project. Right now I’m only making one – since I have no idea how big this little guy is going to be, I’d hate to make an assembly line of rompers, only to find that he can wear each one once before he outgrows them.
I also want to send out a huge Thank You to Lori (you may know her best from her Sew Forth Now podcasts and Girls In The Garden blog). She had several pieces of material up for grabs on her site and I was able to get the floral jersey! This is the same material that I used to make the Burda Plunge Back Top this summer (by the way, if you don’t subscribe to World Of Fashion Magazine, the pattern is now available through Burda as number 7830). As soon as Taylor saw the material she fell in love. I think I might be making her something with it soon!

Although I now have a bluetooth, until I got that, I used an earpiece with a wire or cord or whatever you want to call it, with my cell phone, and I iron, fold laundry, and unload the dishwasher (any mindless task) while I kill off my phone calls. And then there’s my mother-in-law calls too. (ALL my friends MOVE, so I have many out of town relationships that I maintain…my latest current “best friend” is moving any day now! Don’t know why all my friends end up being nomads!) I used to put my cell ph in a passport bag around my neck, but then I figured out that I could open the phone a little ways and “clip” in over the neck of my t-shirt.

Oh laundry, I hate laundry! I usually call my sister while I fold and put away, but now the kids have a chore chart and that is one of the chores, so I’ve been done a little less lately (tho I still do some while they are at school).

I’m with you on the whole laundry folding thing. Ugh! Also, if you haven’t checked it out yet, New Conceptions has a 1-hour bodysuit pattern that’s simple and quick (and, best of all, it includes sizes nb-36 months!).

I don’t mind laundry. And I fold it in the laundry room. Now if only I could get my sons to put their piles away in a more timely fashion instead of getting dressed in the laundry room!
I was lucky to get the last 4 yds of that fabric from Lucy’s. It’s one of my all time fav fabrics which means I’ll probably never cut it, right?? LOL!

I’m lucky Scott puts away the laudry for me. The only thing is I never can find anything.
On the other hand I LOVE to iron. I think it is in my DNA because my mother and brother also enjoy ironing. I know we are a little different.

I agree. Thumbs down on laundry. Especially after my husband gets back from long trip and needs everything clean and pressed pronto. Yay for the neighborhood drycleaner.
I do have a worse nemesis in my opinion, though. I call it evil doghair! We fight daily!

I am right there with you on the laundry. There is quite a large pile in my bedroom just waiting for me to stop procrastinating.

Hey Stacy: something seams to be wrong with the comment link on your foam posting, when I click on it I get to the page listing your sidebar.
