Two flights and one Fall Festival parade (photos to be uploaded later on today) later and I’m back! I’m seriously behind on reading blogs and answering emails, but I do have a couple of cool sites to share that I learned about while I was gone!
AlabamaChanin – This artist creates jewelry, clothing, home furnishings, etc. from recycled materials. She showcases (and sells) her beautiful products on her page and has a few free tutorials to make some of the same projects you see in her store at home. I may try the Stars and Skulls shirt for myself!
Since I’m in the process of making another apron, I love sources of inspiration to get me going. Although Jessie Steele Aprons don’t carry patterns, her vintage-stye aprons are so cute, it makes you want to whip up 3 or 4 that look just as pretty as hers. If those aren’t inspiring enough, be sure to stop by the Apronista blog for more ideas!
If you’ve always wanted to make your own patterns, be sure to stop by and check out Bernina’s newest software program, My Label. This new program allows you to input your measurements (47 of them) to create a 3-D model of yourself . From there you can use the basic patterns provided in the program (20) to alter, shape, and morph your own design that you print at home. They have a free demo available to play around with – I guess you know what I’ll be doing this afternoon!
