So who caught MTV‘s Video Music Awards show last night? I had good intentions of watching the program – of course I wanted to see Britney’s opening act since this was supposed to be her ‘big comeback’ since shaving her head and a stint in rehab (did anyone else think her lip-sync and dancing was horrible?), too bad I missed the big fight between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. So enough about the show, what about the fashions? One of my favorites had to be Mary J. Blige – how stunning does she look in her LBD?
Another winner (in my humble opinion) was Hayden Panettiere’s blue satin number. Shiny can pinpoint a person’s imperfections, bulges, and blemishes but this style looks fun and fantastic on her (and I love the color).
I’ve read several blogs this morning that have either loved or hated Rosario Dawson’s dress. For some, the sequins (apparently found on the side of her dress) and the leather piping was a bit too much for their taste, but remember it’s the VMAs – and this dress is so toned down in comparison to what it could have been (say all leather?). Personally, I think she looks fabulous, but I’d hate to be wearing this number all night – it looks uncomfortable.
An honorable mention has to go out to Paris Hilton – while I didn’t care too much for the leopard print dress (I certainly couldn’t wear it myself, but it works for her), her hair looks AMAZING! In fact, I love it so much, I’m thinking of getting my hair cut like this the next time I go see my stylist!
Of course with every awards program, premiere, or social gathering, there are always those that make the ‘worst dressed list’. I think the clear winner of the VMAs should be this woman – we’ll just call her Bo Peep.

If you want to see a different shot of Paris Hilton’s hair there is one on People.com in their photo section. I like Paris Hilton’s new hair style. It looks good on her.
Paris’ hair style is a good one- sort of an updated Marilyn Monroe look. You’re blond. Go for it!
It does look as if it would require regular use of hair rollers to achieve and gel or hairspray to last through the day or evening. Maybe worth it.
(I admit to being a rather LAZY hair-care type. I keep it all one-length and mid-long so I can just wrap it up in various ways.)
DH actually insisted I watch the Spears trainwreck today! That was one lazy performance! If that was her “great” performance, imagine how bad she was at her dress rehearsal! And you’d think they would get her a better wig than that! She needs to hang it up and concentrate on her mental health!
I was mortified for Britney.
I liked Rhianna’s dress. I didn’t care for Beyonce’s. Mary J. looked fabulous and I also liked what Paris had on. I hate that I love her clothing style but can’t stand her as a person. Maybe I should say I like her stylist’s clothing style but I can’t stand her!

Don’t you think Paris Hilton’s hair looks remarkably like Princess Diana?
Just a thought
