So far this summer, it’s rained a lot. I’m not just talking a day or two here or there, I mean almost every day since Taylor has gotten out of school (which has now been over a month). Consequently, those fun summer activities (like going to the pool or the zoo) haven’t happened, yet. So the other day, we decided to make a trip to a local museum – The Museum of World Treasures.
Our favorite part was the lower level – dinosaurs (we got to touch an actual triceratops skull), Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Mayan artifacts. The photo on the left is one of their dinosaurs from the exhibit and the one on the right is of a mummified falcon.
Of course, this trip has nothing to do with sewing except for the fact that when I came home, my Fabric.com order arrived! I was completely lured by their Designer Grab Bag giveaway and had no problems purchasing enough fabrics and patterns to qualify. So what did I get?
Several Amy Butler fabrics that will soon become some Gumdrop Pillows and sewing machine covers (one fabric is back ordered, but should arrive in a few weeks) for my new sewing room. A navy cotton interlock (it was on special the day I ordered and I have a hard time finding navy around here), a French themed knit (I’m thinking that they will make a nice pair of summer jammies), and a Jalie tank top pattern. My Designer Grab Bag was accidentally left out of my box so you’ll have to wait for it to arrive (I’m told it’s on it’s way) before I can snap some photos. So, what have you all been purchasing recently?
