One of the nice things about coming home from being out of town is checking the mailbox. I had a few surprises inside mine when I came home….
I had placed an order with Lucy’s Fabrics before I left and the items I picked out arrived! Now it may seem silly, but I have a thing for unusual fabrics – what caught my eye was her new skull print. I have no idea what I want to do with it (maybe a hoodie?), but I knew that if I didn’t snag it, it may be gone (on a side note, I seem to be attracted to skulls lately, I even bought a new swimsuit in a cute multi-color skull print). I also purchased a pink and black stripe knit – it’s a bit more on the slinky side that what I had expected, but I’m thinking that it might work perfectly for this top.
I also got a wonderful package from Henriette in Denmark – a copy of a new Danish sewing magazine, Kreative Kvinder. The patterns in this magazine range from baby to (women’s) adult and not only include sewn items, but crochetknitted items (toys and accessories) and home decor ideas and templates too. Like Burda, these patterns don’t contain seam allowances and are multi-sized. I can’t wait to find some fall fabrics, these wrap dresses are calling our (Taylor and I) names:
Thank you so much Henriette – I’m anxious to try one of these patterns out!
Lastly, my new Jalie Pattern arrived – the Twist Top. I’m anxious to compare this one to the famous Burda Twist, but will have to wait a bit… I’ve got a few more swap projects lined up as well as Vogue 8386!
