Planning Stages

Being the “Queen of Planning Projects” that I am, I couldn’t pass up the Joann’s pattern sale yesterday. It was a nice way to get out of the house while it was being shown by a real estate agent.

After spending some time with the summer Simplicity catalog, I settled on one pattern – 3796. I actually think that I either already own this pattern or have something very similar in my stash, which is now boxed up. Either way, I think that I would like to make the capris and the shorts for this summer (maybe with a matching hoodie for when it gets chilly outside at night?).
In the mean time, if time permits, I would like to start on McCall 5379 using the beautiful black and white jersey print that I got from Ann. My sister-in-law’s wedding reception is this weekend and I think that this dress would work perfectly for it! But before I start on that, I’m off to unpack a few boxes (yes, that’s right, unpack) – we have an open house this weekend and our living room is looking ‘sterile’ without any decoration in it. What is everyone else doing this weekend?

    Hi,
I’m glad to hear you are out and about. I hope you get a “bite” on your house.I’m finishing a pair of capris that go with a RTW top and cutting out a skirt for my daughter and more pants for me. I have some cute tops in the queue, too.
Prayers and blessings for you and your family

Well, I’m planning on finishing up a few outfits to ship to my ebay model…and Lu has a sleepover guest so they’re wanting to go to “town”. I’ll need a “weekend break” after this weekend! 😀
    I hope you’re feeling better.

Stacy, I am so behind on reading blogs, so I am late in learning about your miscarriage. So sorry to read this. In reading through several posts, it appears you are better and feeling well enough to plan some sewing projects. Hate that the house sale did not go as planned. NOT GOOD! But I am sure all will get better.
Also read your article in Sew News, congrats on getting published.

I am working on the skirt in Simplicity 4241. I have made two others out of this pattern, and I just love it. It doesn’t take hardley any time at all to make.
