More About The Apron

I’ve been very excited about the Hoodie Apron since I first ran across it. Now that I have one in my hands, I’ve been ‘planning’ how this apron should look. However, the first one I make will not be for me.

My sister in law is having a bridal shower soon and this is what I’ve come up with (so, Jaime, if you happen to be reading this, stop now!):
A copy of Amy Sedaris’ I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence. I loved this book so much (hillarious, homemaker fun) and I know she’s a fan too, a Hoodie skirt apron, a ‘tip jar’ (if you’ve read I Like You, you’ll know what I’m talking about), and a chia pet. Now before you say anything about the Chia Pet – it’s on their registery.
So, back to the apron. While at Joann’s, I selected a few fabrics to use: A Cranston VIP print that is similar to the lining I used in last years Hot Patterns Wrapture jacket (the color scheme is more greens, pinks, white and black – very retro) and an Alexander Henry “Sweet Cherry” print with a black background. The two colors seem to complement each other well – photos to come soon.

Ohhh! I have not read Amy’s book but have read her brothers and found them to be hysterical! This went on my wish list.
Those fabrics looks great, can’t wait to see the finished apron. 🙂

I can’t wait to see your apron and hear your thought on the pattern. Mine hasn’t come yet but there doing construction on the house next door and the dopes keep parking in front of the mail box so I haven’t gotten any mail in three days.

I saw that cherry print at Joann’s yesterday but couldn’t come up with a good reason to buy it! I think that sounds like a great shower gift! I am looking forward to hearing what you think of the pattern too.
