The Ride Home

Yay!!! We made it back home without any problems – although some parts of the road were still in rough shape. It’s only a 3 hour drive, but it’s not a very interesting one. So, it gave me plenty of time to think about how I should spend my Christmas money! Here’s what I’ve been mulling over:

The Swatch Club Membership from Fabric Mart.
Renew my Burda subscription early so I don’t wait until the last minute and worry that I’ll miss an issue.
Buy a Japanese Nuigurumi book.
Go on a guilt free fabric shopping spree!
Save it and load up on new patterns (Jalie will have a new set coming out in January and the new Patrones isn’t up yet, but I’m sure it will be wonderful again).
Any other thoughts?
I also want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

    Hmmm….. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
I defiantly like the Burda idea. How can you beat that many patterns every month for that price?
    I haven

Now you know I am a Fabric Mart fanatic so that would be my first choice especially since you have gotten some nice pieces from there and made some great garments this year. But then I also vote for the Burda subscription. Let us know what you decide!

Happy New year! So glad you were safe in your travels.
Burda patterns fit so well, so that’s a given, right?
Japan is the world capital of CUTE! Even MEN carry around cartoon/anime themed stuff!
Vogue fabrics has two different sampler clubs. Have fun deciding!

Well, I went ahead and got the Fabric Mart Swatch club subscription – I’m such a FM junkie, I couldn’t pass it up! The swatches are different than what they post on the site, so it gives me a bit more variety when fabric shopping! (MeLisa – I have that Jalie pant pattern too, but still haven’t sewn it up! I’m excited to see what new patterns they come up with. Hot Patterns should have some new ones soon, but I don’t know when. I’m hoping they make a new Biker Babe Jacket with the new designs).
I’m also renewing the Burda now too. No sense waiting until the last minute!

    Stacy –
I’m considering FMswatch as well. I did the FF swatch this year, and although I have been pleased with the fabric quality of the few things that I ordered, their customer service is TERRIBLE. I ordered silk, got cotton knit. they said I could return it for a refund less shipping, which meant I’d be paying shipping both ways and it was thier mistake. I may do the FM this year.

I’ve heard that about FF – and heard that it takes forever to get your order, too. That’s a shame, since they seem to have such a large fabric selection.
I’m very excited to get my FM swatches started, I’m going to have a $25 gift certificate buring a hole in my pocket!!!!

I realize you already made your decision so I’m chiming in late ;P
But, first, great decision, I have to agree. Also, I got my two Japanese crafts/sewing projects book and oh MAN I sure love them!! Toooooo many choices to start with 😉
