Halloween, Swaps, and Books

Well, we’re back from our weekend in Kansas City. I’ll be posting a few Halloween party pictures eventually after they’ve been downloaded, I unpack, etc. I have to admit, I didn’t take as many pictures as what I had hoped that I would…

While I was gone, I got my partners for the Pin Cushion Swap Round 4 and the Christmas Stocking Swap 2. igobylorib is my Pin Cushion partner (and the organizer for this particular swap) – she’s not particular about colors but does like vintage style pincushions. I did some looking into it, and I noticed that the petal style that I recently made is considered ‘vintage’. I’m thinking that I may try to make something similar, but larger and ‘puffier’. I’ll have to play around with the pattern a bit to see how I can do this. SewingLori is my Chirstmas Stocking partner. In this swap, you create a Christmas Stocking and stuff it with 1/2 homemade and 1/2 purchased goodies! I’ve got a few ideas of some things that I want to make – I’ll be keeping you posted on my progess!
Before I left, I did make a purchase from Amazon – I bought Plush-o-Rama: Curious Creatures for Immature Adults and Fast, Fun & Easy Christmas Decorations: Festive Fabric Keepsakes to Create & Embellish! I’m hoping that they arrive soon, my delivery estimate is November 3 – December 7, 2006, talk about a range! Speaking of books, I recently read 90 Minute Fabric Fun: 20+ Projects You Can Finish in an Afternoon and plan on posting a review soon.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Don’t forget to vote for your favorite scrap project, voting ends tomorrow morning!
