Aside from yesteday’s domestic activities, I also got to do two of my favorite activities – shopping and sewing!
I made it over to Joann’s for their Moonlight Madness sale on Saturday. I probably spent an hour pouring over pattern catalogs, but only found one that I really liked – McCall 5194. While I was there I also picked up 2 yards of a floral sateen that I plan to use for this trench that appeared in Ottobre Magazine – it was also a steal at $1.50yard. I also rummaged through their clearanced yarn and came up with these two balls of ‘thick and thin”, $1.50 each – with the weather turning cooler, I’m getting interested in making at least a scarf.
I also joined two swaps on Craftster – A Pin Cushion Swap (which is great timing since I was just blogging about this on Saturday) and Little Visitor Swap #5. This swap is very similar to the Flat Stanley projects that my daughter has done is school – basically, you’re sending your favorite stuffed animal (or doll) to another person over the holidays (in the case of Flat Stanley, you’re sending a paper version of yourself to someone) where they will take to various locations around their city, take photos, write a ‘story’, and create some souvenirs for your visiting stuffie. Taylor is particuarly excited about this one – she’s even promised to help make the scrapbook. I’m contemplating joining the Christmas Stocking Swap 2, but I don’t want to get in over my head with swaps!
How about everyone else, how did you spend your weekend?
