The Package

Today is my last installment of my Suzie Homemaker Swap entries – that is until my package arrives in the mail. So, once again, Miss Vicky avert your eyes from this post!

I finished up my last craft that I’m sending to my swap partner. This time I made a potholder\ovenmit from Amy Butler’s book, In Stitches. I did make a few changes from the pattern. Since I was trying to keep the theme and the fabrics the same, I didn’t have enough variety to make a patchwork potholder. Instead, I strictly used the red and blue star fabrics. I also omitted making my own bias binding and purchased some instead.

I really like the way these turned out and will have to make some for myself soon. I have tendency to go through ovenmits quickly (I seem to burn holes in them)!
So, it looks as if my package is ready to be sent off to Miss Vicky in Australia! In addition to the apron, potholder, and magnets, I’ve also added some recipe cards and a Kansas magnet (because I think that it’s fun to get things from other countries, I hope she does too)!
On a completely unrelated note, Knitty has put up their fall issue – and it’s spectacular! I’m in love with Ivy, the wrap top sweater, Serrano (which looks way beyond what I’m capable of), this very sexy knitted skirt, and this absolutely amazing, brightly colored afghan.

Better to have holes in your oven mitts than in, well, YOU!
Very nice group of projects you did for your swap partner!
