Odds And Ends

Good Morning! I’ve been meaning to put up a post about a few things that just don’t fit into some of my other ramblings. So, now that I’ve had a nice cup of coffee, my fingers are fired up and ready to type!

To start off, awhile ago, I had contacted Pamela of Pamela’s Patterns about her upcoming designs. The other day she sent me a brochure with pictures and a description of her new patterns and product. Included were a bias skirt in two lenghts and new necklines for her “Perfect Tee” pattern. The new necklines include a ballet neck, boat neck, funnel neck, and my personal favorite – the square neck. Along with the new necklines, she’s inclued two new sleeve shapes, a bell sleeve and flare sleeve. Pamela also has a new product called “Fantastic Elastic” coming out. This elastic is 1 1/2″ wide, but can be cut down to 1/4″ without compromising the elastic quality. How cool is that? I may never have to go out and buy elastic again. You get 5 yards for $8.
Secondly, if you haven’t already checked them out, Santa Cruz Designs has finally updated their page! Their patterns are modeled by computer generated characters – something which I’ve never seen before and I’m not sure that I like. I think that I would prefer to see some line drawings or real people wearing the designs. Now the real question is, when can we buy the patterns?
Lastly, Olympus Fashion Week started yesterday. John Bartlett, Perry Ellis, Marc Bouwer, Gottex, and BCBG Max Azria started off the lineup. The official site will post pictures of the designer’s line (right now, only some of yesterday’s collections are posted).
I am now off to put the finishing touches on one of my swap projects. Hopefully tonight, I’ll have a post up with the finished product!
edit: Speaking of fashion shows, I ran across this article this afternoon: Madrid bans too-thin models from catwalk

Thanks for all these great updates!!

I usually view the designer collections on style.com but will look at the site you linked to see which is better. Thanks!

Bernadette – I think that Style.com has more pictures than what the Olympus site does.
BTW, did anyone see the Grillz the Baby Phat models were wearing?

Those computer generated characters look like they’re right out of a “Sims” game. Kind of weird – I don’t know, they just done’t seem very user friendly. Some of the designs DO look promising though!
