Frustration

I was hoping to create a post today saying, “Hurray, my fabric for my bag swap arrived”. Unfortunately, I can’t. Now I understand that my postal service is a day behind Wichita’s – we are considered “rural”. We don’t have postal trucks (weird, hu?), and, at times, I swear that we still must use the pony express to have our mail delivered. But, I seriously thought that if they shipped it when the said they did, it would be here by now.

In the meantime, I am hoping to work on a side project, my In K jacket a bit more, and maybe do some alterations. Oh, how I hate to do those. Both my mother and I picked up some pants last week and found them to be tremendously long (I think that I have to take off 6+ inches on my pants if they tells you anything).
Since I won’t be working on my bag, what is everyone else working on over the weekend?

One place I lived up in Michigan was rural, but right across the street was in the city. The mailman drove a regular car and if it snowed, he wouldn’t deliver because he didn’t want his car to get stuck. Although, I live in a city now and it always seems like mail takes a long time to get here.
Hmmmm…what am I doing? I’m catching up on my blogging. I took a sewing class this morning – and intro to my new machine. I learned how to do a blind hem. Yay! I have never been able to sew clothes. I don’t know how you do it. The progress on your jacket is looking great. Maybe one day I’ll be able to do something like that. For right now, maybe I’ll just try something easy like an elastic-waist skirt.

Sorry to hear about your fabric. bummer!
We have rural mail delivery here in SW MI too, but our people are actually pretty good. We know the ladies that work in the post office & they are always looking out for us. Maybe my dad working in the main plant in Kazoo for 30 years has something to do with it. Hmmm….
Anyhoo, what am I going to work on today? Well seeing as the heat index is going to put it over 100 today. staying cool is at the top of the list. Then maybe a purse, or a bracelt & earrings, or tracing off a couple of Burda WOF patterns, or taking pictures of some old WOF that I am going to sell. I haven’t decided yet.
