The mailman has been good to me today – not only did I recieve my copy of Ottobre’s Autumn issue (wow, was that FAST), but my copy of Sew U: The Built by Wendy Guide to Making Your Own Wardrobe.
Continuing on from my previous post……
Well, we’re back!
Let me start off this post with a little something sewing related – Anne St Clair, owner of NeedleNook Fabrics and bra guru, has a book coming out titled “Intimately Yours, Bras that Fit.” I had a chance to skim over this book the last time I was in her shop. From what I saw, it’s very in depth and has lots of photographs (170 of them). If you’re interested in making your own bras, this looks like a great reference book to have in your library. Right now the only way to order one is by contacting her shop directly.
It’s Friday already! Where has this week gone? For one, both Taylor and I were the recipients of a flip-flop chain letter.
As I started typing this entry, I decided that I should start a catagory entitled ‘purchases’. However, somehow that would probably entail disclosing how much money I am putting into my crafty hobby and I probably really don’t want to know that. Why bring this up? I’ll blame it on the enablers at Pattern Review and Ebay.
For everyone who reguarly reads this site, you already know that I am a huge Amy Butler fan. So, it’s no suprise that her upcoming book, Amy Butler’s In Stitches: More Than 25 Simple and Stylish Sewing Projects was high on my must read list. I recieved my review copy yesterday and I spent the entire day pouring over it’s pages – and I must say that it far exceeded my expectations (and they were already pretty high).
It’s time to go back to work on my jacket – until it’s finished! I spent a little bit of time on it over the weekend and this is what I’ve got so far:
I have officially gone portable….. Bret bought me a notebook yesterday – a Compaq Presario!
