After reading several reviews of Jalie 2561, I’ve decided that I’m definately going to get this pattern. So before I got this one, I wanted to know if new patterns are going to be released for fall…….And they are!

SWAPs
I’m not disciplined enough to participate in SWAPs (Sewing With A Plan), so I’ve been thinking about joining a Swap – a Summer Bag Swap! I’ve never done one before (but it sure sounds like fun) and would like to know people’s experiences (good and bad) with them before I commit. So, send me your emails or post your comments here and help me decide!
Sew Subversive: The Review
Last week, I had talked about a new book coming out in September called Sew Subversive. Yesterday, I recieved a proof copy of the book – I’ve been reading it ever since and finally finshed it today! So here’s my review of this upcoming work:
Visual Inspiration
Sometimes, I run across sites and I just find them inspiring – Design*Sponge, happens to be one of them. Mostly, it’s the photos she posts, they get my creative juices flowing.
Big City
I am happy to report, the Built by Wendy City Shorts are now complete! Everything else went together without a hitch!
DOH!
To quote the immortal words of Homer Simpson, DOH! I so desprately want these City Shorts to work and now I’ve come across a few problems – all of which are my fault.
Firefly Frenzy
It’s time again for Joann‘s Firefly Frenzy sale. I managed to make it out of this store without any fabric, but I did pick up some other fun goodies.
New Patterns Out
It’s that time again – fall pattern previews. Simplicity beat out the crowd by releasing their patterns first. I’ve already picked up a number of new ones that they’ve released – I’m really impressed with the direction they are taking their patterns!
Burda just released their new fall collection. I’m really not sure how I feel about these patterns – nothing jumped out at me and most of what I saw looked like an ’80’s remix (this page has the knickers and riding pants with the high neck blouses, some with ties).
Fire Up The Knitting Needles!
Alright knitters, grab your needles, there’s a new yarn in town. Designer Wenlan Chia, bettern known by her label, Twinkle by Wenlan is coming out with her own line of yarns.
Fear Of Flies
I got to work on my City Shorts and I believe that the hardest part is over – the zip fly!
